Welcome our new ballet teacher, Lindsey Robert!

Lindsey will be joining the CSPA team this fall! She will be teaching Ballet 1 & 2, and Modern dance.

A Tennessee native, Lindsey started dance at an early age and has studied classical ballet along with many other styles, including modern and jazz. She trained at First Light Arts Academy, Metro Parks Dance Division, and Vanderbilt University with Tom Shoemaker and Jennifer McNamara. During high school, she took modern classes with StillPoint Dance Theater under Sharon Perry and later became a trainee with the company. Before graduating high school, she received a Certificate of Dance Studies from Vanderbilt University. She also attended summer workshops with Ballet Magnificat and the Atlanta Ballet.

Later Lindsey performed as an assistant with Illusionist Brock Gill and his wife Auny, assisting in illusions and even performing her own routines combining dance with illusion. She continued her dance education by taking master classes with Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Joy Davis, Amy Morrow, and Luigi. She also joined and performed with Epiphany Dance Company and also taught company ballet class.

Lindsey has been teaching dance for over a decade now at several schools including Tennessee Dance Arts Conservatory, Ann Carroll School of Dance, and Fellowship School of Dance. Lindsey is now happy to be joining as a teacher at CSPA to share the joy of movement with this community. Lindsey is married to her best friend John, and they are parents to a precious little one.

Haunted in the District

Franklin School of Performing Arts dance companies and Columbia School of Performing Arts had the privilege of dancing at the King's Daughter as part of their Halloween festivities!

Later, the girls transformed into zombies and flash mobbed Downtown Columbia's Haunted in the District.

We dance together.

It's so important to know the history of dance and why we dance! This is a great short video created by the amazing Camille A. Brown and presented by TED.

Did you know that our modern dance class like tap, hip hop, and Jazz ... (and even modern dance).. derive from African dance and social dance over the centuries.

We believe dance in a part of who we are and that dancing together is so important. Come join our dance family and see for yourself!

CSPA partners with The Boys and Girls Club of Maury County.

We're excited to be partnering with The Boys and Girls Club of Maury County. We started our classes at the club this month.

Girls K-2nd are participating in a Pre Ballet class full of imagination and creativity so that they can find a active movement based way to express themselves. While the older girls 3rd-5th are learning about music and rhythm through tap dance.

The girls participate in class every other week with Ms. Megan from CSPA. Though the class is in it's infancy, she hopes to see this program continue to develop and include performance opportunity for the girls.
